CCE welcomes 14 summer interns

The Centre for Climate Engagement at Hughes Hall is delighted to welcome the 14 successful interns who will contribute to various climate focused projects over the summer, working in Cambridge and remotely. The internship scheme, now in its third year, saw an unprecedented number of applications, with nearly 100 submissions, just over 50% applying from Cambridge colleges and the other 50% from universities across the UK.  More →

Event summary: Workshops to develop a Locally Determined Contribution for Cambridgeshire

The Centre for Climate Engagement (CCE) based at Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, is working with partners to develop a framework supporting local authorities to achieve net zero in a way that aligns with and supports national ambition on net zero. The project was awarded funding under Innovate UK’s ‘Net Zero Living Programme’. Legal insight: A case note on ClientEarth v Shell Plc

On 9 February 2023, ClientEarth, a non-profit environmental law organisation and UK registered charity, brought a claim against the directors of Shell plc before the High Court of England and Wales, alleging breaches of their duties as directors for failing to take certain steps to protect Shell against climate-change related risks.
