News: The Cambridge Seminar Series on Law and the Climate Crisis

01 Oct 2024

The Cambridge Seminar Series on Law and the Climate Crisis offers unique insights into the role of law and legal systems in response to the urgent issue of climate change. This series is co-hosted by the Centre for Climate Engagement at Hughes Hall, Cambridge Zero, the Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (C-EENRG) at the Department of Land Economy, the Cambridge Climate Society, the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law, and the Cambridge University Law Society.

Climate change affects every part of society, and the law is no exception. From international agreements to local policies, many areas of law shape how we respond to this global challenge. The Cambridge Seminar Series on Law and the Climate Crisis explores the vital role of legal systems in tackling one of the most pressing issues of our time.

This series brings together top experts in law and climate action to discuss how different fields of law—public, private, international, and domestic—intersect with climate change. It’s a unique opportunity to explore the complexities of climate law and understand how legal frameworks can drive effective solutions.

Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, University staff, and anyone interested, these seminars are designed to foster meaningful dialogue on how law can shape a sustainable future.
