The Centre for Climate Engagement will participate in an event hosted by the Professional Law Institute with Net Zero Lawyers Alliance, at King’s College London on 13th February 2025.
This engaging session will explore how climate change affects every aspect of legal practice. Hosted by the Professional Law Institute at King’s College London, the event will feature the Net Zero Lawyers Alliance (NZLA), who will examine how legal disciplines must adapt to address the climate crisis.
Nick Scott, Manager of the CCE’s Law for Climate Action programme, said:
“I’m excited to speak at this event and showcase the Law and Climate Atlas, a resource that helps legal professionals understand how climate change intersects with almost every area of law. Equipping lawyers with climate-related knowledge is crucial to helping them navigate an evolving legal landscape and leverage their expertise to drive climate action.”
The Law and Climate Atlas was recently updated to include three new areas of law in the UK version, and seven new areas in the US version, bringing the total to 40 areas. Created by the CCE in collaboration with NZLA, it explores key areas of law—including Public, Company, Environmental, Intellectual Property, and Tort Law—highlighting actionable strategies for lawyers navigating this unprecedented challenge.
The session aims to inspire legal professionals to drive transformative change within their practices and beyond.
Refreshments will be provided.
