Effective Climate Governance

Businesses are not taking fast or significant enough action to meet the climate challenge. In most cases the solutions are known and, in most cases, they are affordable.

But many boards lack the understanding, skills or leadership necessary to transition and transform at the pace needed to address the challenge. Non-executive or independent directors (NEDs) are essential to the effective running of companies and the Centre provides concise and targeted information, data and tools to build climate competence as a content partner to the Climate Governance initiative and Chapter Zero.

Local Authorities are also critical for delivering on emissions reductions in their jurisdictions and we are interested in the role of good governance to ensure the effective implementation of measures that cut emissions and build climate resilience in line with National targets.
