We’re pleased to share the Spring edition of the Centre for Climate Engagement newsletter—and with it, a warm welcome to our new Director, Dr Paul Jefferiss.
This season marks a significant milestone for CCE with the successful spin-out of the Climate Governance Initiative (CGI). Incubated at Hughes Hall since 2020, CGI has evolved into a vibrant global network promoting board-level climate action. Now, it begins an exciting new chapter as an independent organisation under the leadership of former CCE Director, Emily Farnworth. We’re proud of CCE’s role in launching impactful initiatives and will continue to support CGI as a knowledge partner.
Our newsletter highlights a busy and productive start to the year. Among the updates:
- Expanded coverage in our Law and Climate Atlas UK and US, now spanning 40 jurisdictions
- A new Expert Insight on Greenhouse Gas Removals
- A call for abstracts for the inaugural issues of a new open access journal on Corporate Climate Governance published with Cambridge University Press
- Progress on the Locally Determined Contribution (LDC) Guidance Framework for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
- Submissions to public consultations on green taxonomies, and on human rights impacts of a fossil-fuel-based economy

We’re grateful to our Advisory Group for their ongoing guidance and to our funders and partners across the UK and beyond.
