CCE appoints new Advisory Group

14 Nov 2024

The Centre for Climate Engagement is delighted to announce the appointment of its first Advisory Group comprising ten academic and professional experts who are all Hughes Hall Fellows, to provide strategic input and guidance to shape the development of CCE’s programmes and projects.

The new Advisory Group will serve as ambassadors, representing and promoting CCE’s mission at key events. Their responsibilities include advising on the CCE’s strategy, ensuring alignment with climate governance and policy developments, and facilitating connections to advance best practices.

Emily Farnworth, Director of the CCE, said:

The CCE was founded in 2018 by Dr Ron Zimmern and Julie Baddeley, who were particularly concerned that boardrooms of listed companies (with few exceptions) were not sufficiently engaged with the climate agenda. Many boards had not given it the priority that it deserves, and some had not discussed it at all. To address the issue, the CCE aims to encourage academic excellence in climate law, governance and organisational change, and to translate and transfer this knowledge to corporate boards to accelerate the race to net zero emissions and climate resilience.
